About Me

I’m a Investorwho made his first trade when he was 12

I remember my first experience with the stock market, I was in Hawaii for spring break. This was the spring of 2009, I remember my dad watching Mad Money intensely as Jim Cramer was talking about the terrible down day that had happened.  I asked my dad what stocks and the stock market were, after he explained to me i became very interested. he even told me that if i had a good idea i could invest in it.

I started to research what companies I could invest in. At this time I was a big Skateboarder so I naturally started to research Skateboarding companies only to find that almost none of them were public expect one. The company was called Volcom they are a clothing company for actions sports and are still one of my favorite clothing companies. I immediately looked up there ticker symbol and price and started to hound my parents about it. My dad finally gave in and called his adviser at Merrill Lynch and asked about the company they said it want going to preform that well, but my dad said it would be a learning lesson for me and bought 100 shares at about $10 per share. One year later when we moved to Huntsville Alabama, they were sold when Puma bought them out at $25 a share. This got me very excited.

My freshman year i thought i wanted to be a Doctor until in the spring I watched a tv series on Hulu called “Wall Street Warriors” it was all about different people who worked on Wall street, the show got me back into stocks and i made another trade with my dad. It was for Starbucks yet  another company i loved. I got in at around $51 a share and got out at about $58. I wanted to keep doing more and more trades, so my dad set up an account with Scottrade (I’m not endorsing them) with $2,000. This entered me into a massive learning curve that finally started to end at the winter of 2011.

Now I have learned a lot and I know how to trade and mange money. I started to go onto twitter and post about my trades and I accidentally stumbled upon something that I  never knew really existed. It was a entire network of teenagers just like me who were trading and investing. Many of which were on twitter and had there own blogs. After a while of communicating with many of the different teen traders and building up a very small following on twitter I decided to start this blog.

I am currently a sophomore at Lehigh University where I am presuming a degree in Finance with minors in Theater and Economics. At Lehigh I am on the Executive board of the Mustard & Cheese Drama Society which is the second oldest drama society in the country. I am also on the Dreyfus Portfolio which is Lehigh’s premier student run portfolio with approximately $400,000 in assets. To get on the Portfolio you must first send in your resume either in the Fall in order to get on the portfolio in the winter or in the spring to get on the portfolio for the next school year. If you get selected you then have a first round interview, and if you are lucky a second round interview, and then hopefully you are the one or two selected out of 50 candidates. The portfolio is primarily made up of Juniors and Seniors its members are normally highly recruited by big Wall Street banks. I joined the board in January of 2016 as the first ever First Semester Freshman to be accepted on the Dreyfus Portfolio.
